There were medical doctors working hand-in-hand with alternative health doctors there were very sick people and others just seeking personal rejuvenation. As a guest, I could use some of the services they offered. In 2006, I had the opportunity to go to a state of the art medical facility in Mexico to assist my parents doing a health assessment. Though I have been diligent about my daily practice over the years, I’ve also had profound, meaningful, and transformative experiences in moments when I was drifting away from the actual meditation technique when I was exploring my own path. I have been meditating for over 20 years and I have explored many techniques-it was my personal inner experience during meditation that first encouraged me to learn about heart coherence. Our hearts can also entrain the hearts of other people around us-research illustrates our hearts actually respond and are connected to the oscillations of the earth frequencies. What does that mean? The heart is basically its own brain. Scientists have found that the signals the heart continuously sends to the brain actually influence the function of higher brain centers involved in perception, cognition, and emotional processing. When we cultivate appreciation and compassion, our heart rhythm actually becomes more consistent-which is linked to a greater sense of wellbeing. But what if we could train our hearts to be in coherence more often? What if we could entrain others in our journey to happiness just by being in a state of deep appreciation for life itself? We all seek different ways to live more at ease. This means that our heart coherence can fluctuate from moment to moment. This coherence has been linked to a sense of wellbeing, as well as being more emotionally stable and reaching peak states of mindfulness.Įach one of us deals with stress differently-whether the stress is mental, emotional or social. Scientific studies have shown that when we cultivate-intentionally or unintentionally-emotions of appreciation, love, and compassion (as opposed to anxiety, anger, or fear) the oscillations of our heart rhythm are showing as being more coherent or consistent. When we feel this connection, not only within ourselves but to our environment and even to Mother Earth, we are actually being in coherence. The flow state is the zone where our hearts, minds, and bodies are at one and we feel a deep connection with ourselves and others. You’ve probably heard about being in “a state of flow.” It might happen during a yoga or meditation class, while cooking with your loved ones, or while you’re cutting a rug late-night with good friends. Send good energy, full of love and gratitude to your family and friends, smile at the stranger that passes by, wish happiness and health to everyone and be thankful for receiving it back.Curious to learn more? Every person that practices it, finds that there is more joy in a mindful state of performing every day activities than in waiting for big future events. Through meditation we are learning to be more in the present and to be mindful. I think this year we should put some extra effort into it, for our mental health we should try to bringing more joy and gratitude into our lives. I believe that time around Christmas is an exceptional moment to practice love and kindness meditation, to create heart coherence within ourselves and send love to our close ones, especially this year when we often can’t celebrate it together. When you love it, you will care for it, look after it and grow it well, when you stop loving no matter how much work you will put into it, it won’t blossom the same way. It is enough to say that if we love something it will always thrive, even if it is a simple thing like your house, car, work. Love is the purest energy possible, it is the driving force of most aspects of our lives. This usually brings your coherence ratio higher.Įffective heart coherence involves drawing the emotions of love, gratitude and kindness into our mind and our body while maintaining stable breathing. Feel it with all your physical body and bring it back into the area of your heart. This will put you into a basic state of coherence.īring your attention to your heart area, feel how your heart beat calms and how it synchronises with your breath, slowly move your thoughts to someone or something that you truly love.īring an emotion of appreciation, compassion, or love into your awareness. Your goal is to breathe 5 to 6 breaths per minute. You can extend it as long as it still feels calming. Count to 5 in every inhale, and the same with every exhale. Close your eyes, lie down or sit in a comfortable position.
